Summer Book List

When I was little my absolute favorite summer past-time was reading. I would devour book after book after book - starting all the way back when I was reading Mouse Soup and Frog and Toad. Lately, however, I've found myself reading less and less. I want to get back into it again, so I sat down and wrote a list of 10 books I want to read this summer. How funny that they were all written before 1920! Hehe. What can I say? I love 19th and early, early 20th century literature! Blame the home shcooler in me. ;)

  1. I feel the exact same way. There was one summer when I read about 40 books! But nowadays, I can't get into it as much. I guess I just don't have the time now. :( However, I just recently picked up Lucille Ball's autobiography so I'm hoping that it will encourage me to keep going when I finish! I used to make my dad take me to Barnes and Noble every week to get a new Babysitter's Club book when I was little! haha. Good luck with your reading! :)

  2. I read Northanger Abbey last summer and really enjoyed it. It's a fun summer book. I also adore Anne of Green Gables!

  3. You blame the homeschooling for that, huh? I guess I finally have an excuse, :)

  5. Sense and Sensibility is one of my all-time favourite books. Although I never managed to finish Emma.

  6. I know what you mean. During the summer I finally have a chance to read for pleasure. I've also made a list of books I hope to read during this time. And I'm pretty satisfied with my pace. I can just enjoy my book and not have to worry on whether or not there will be a test on it. Summer reading is nice.

  8. I have the entire collection of Anne of Green Gables if you'd like me to send them to you for free. I read them all this year (the books were used before I received them too by the way). There are about 8 or 9 books (can't remember. . but they're all there on my shelf and I don't like keeping books)..
