Emma Rose Watson

Just plain "Watson" wasn't enough of a nick-name for Heather, so she added a first name - Emma after Mrs. Emma Peel from the old Avengers TV show. After watching three and a half seasons of Doctor Who she added a middle name as well: Rose after our favorite of the Doctor's companions, Rose Tyler. So now I am Emma Rose Watson.

This outfit reminded her of Emma Peel, since she often wears jump suits, and a romper is just a shorter version of one. Yes, after wanting one for over a year, I finally have a romper. I am very happy, although I have to admit, I wasn't quite sure I liked how it looked on me at first. But throughout the day it sort of grew on me, and now I'm eager to wear it again!

Friday Favorites - Wedding Inspirations

To be honest, for several years of me early teens, I didn't want to get married. It's only during this year that I've actually look forward to. Here are some of the ideas I've been really loving:

1. Balloons! I love balloons lately. They're so pretty!
2. Pennant banners. I made one for my cousin for her graduation party, and I fully intend to make one for my wedding (whenever that is).

3. How adorable is this I Spy chart? Thanks so much to Maggeygrace of Lifesize Paper Doll for bringing it to my attention in her guest post on Laughing with Broken Eyes!

4. One thing I really, really want to have at my wedding is a photo booth. And in that photo booth I want to have props like these. Geeky glasses; a bow tie; and a funny, fake bow tie - my favorite!

5. I love these cup cakes! As you well know, I'm a huge fan of bows, and these are seriously adorable!

6. I love ice cream. It and brownies are my favorite deserts, add a beautiful dish and adorable, heart shaped waffle cone and I think you've just made the perfect wedding treat!

7. I fell in love with this picture as soon as I saw it. Until then I had never thought of having mismatched bridesmaid's dresses. Now I am *in British accent* totally and completely planning on having each brides maid picking her own dress (but with a common color theme).

8. While all the brides maids were getting ready for my friend, Sarah's wedding, Heather and I started talking about how we would like our brides maids hair done for our weddings. At the times I had no idea what I would like, but when Elsie Cakes's tutorial for messy buns, I realized that that would be perfect! Definitely something I would love for my brides maid's hair!

9. Thank you again to Maggeygrace for bringing this picture to my attention! I completely love the whole outfit: the bow ties; the cardigans/blazer; the jeans - even the boutonnieres. Add some converses and you've got, in my opinion, just about the coolest outfit a guy could wear! Here's hoping my fiance has the same impeccable taste!

10. "Just about" a word that here means "the coolest outfit aside, of course, from the 10th Doctor's outfit." A suit, and tie and converses - who'd have thunk it?? Of course, the trench coat would be awkward for a wedding, but if my fiance wants to wear the rest of it, I'll not be complaining! *winks*

11. I love Elsie Cakes "married finger." I am determined to do this when I get married.

12. And what about my dress? Well, I definitely want a shorter dress. I was looking for a picture of one when I happened upon this one. I may be biased by the big, sea foam green thing behind the dress, but for whatever reason, I love it. Just look at the cool headlights - I mean, lace details. <3

So that's all for my wedding inspirations. What do you all want when you get married?

The Tide Pulls Me Under

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
I thrifted this dress while Jack was visiting. I'm not usually a fan of maxi dresses on myself, but I just couldn't pass up the lovely lace details on this one!
I wore it the day after I got it. Jack drove me down to the beach and we got to spend some time just walking through the fog and taking lots of pictures. It was a really special time since I don't usually get to go on many adventures with my "big sister."

Wearing this dress totally made me feel like Anne Shirley, or some romantic Jane Austen heroine. It's the sort of dress I would have loved to wear as a young teen - I was so obsessed with Anne Shirley, Jane Austen books and all things medieval. I can't believe how much I've grown up in just a few years!

Ice Cream Social

The power was out for four days while Jack was here. On one of those days Jack and I got a huge hankerin' for ice cream. But, unfortunately all the places that normally sell ice cream within walking distance of my house (we didn't have a car available) also had no power. So we took the opportunity to walk head to the beach for the second time that day, as the ice cream shop there had power, and we invited Christina to accompany us. Here are some of the pictures I took that day:
This is Christina and my signature pose. We tried to do it from either side of the road, but a car let us go across, and we had to run quickly, so we didn't have time. You can see the rest of the photos from that day on my Flickr page - if you so desire.

On another note, I've noticed a lot more of my fans are following me on my FaceBook page since my giveaway, thank you so much! It's so nice to hear from you. I thought I would throw out my Twitter user name as well, since I use it more often (it's sorta like the place to get behind the scenes info on Beautifully Pure), and I'd love it if you all would follow me there, as well! You girls are awesome!

Thrifting Haul

I was planning on posting some pictures from when Heather, Christina, and I went to the beach, but I haven't finished editing them yet. So I hope you'll enjoy this thrifting haul video instead. After I made it I realized it was fifteen minutes long! So I decided to make it into two parts. I'll post the second part on Thursday.

It's my first "vlog," so I'm a little awkward, and I talk a little too fast, but I hope you all like it anyway. If you do comment and let me know!

Bow Ties are Cool

"Dress everyday like you'd run way with the Doctor in those clothes."

I have a confession to make. I have become a huge Doctor Who fan girl. But really, what girl couldn't help but loving a guy who travels through space and time, has great hair, awesome style, a hilarious sense of humor and uncommonly casual shoes to be worn with a suit and tie??
Anyway, about this outfit. I wore this outfit a couple weeks ago when Heather was visiting. We spent every night she was here watching Doctor Who, and, being the nerdy fan girl I am, I decided to base and entire outfit around The Doctor. Voila! The bow tie isn't exactly from my favorite Doctor (David Tennant is, in my opinion, the best Doctor the world has ever known) but - well, I agree with Matt Smith. "Bow ties are cool." *grins*

{dress/thrifted ~ shoes/my little sisters (from Target) ~ belt/H&M ~ bow tie necklace/made by me}

The shoes, however, are from my favorite Doctor. He always wears Converses (except for his white pair, they might be Vans - I can't tell). He has several pairs - red, black and white - that he always wears with his suits and ties and long tan trench coats. I'm hoping to get a trench coat this autumn. When I go fan girl I go full fan girl!

Music Monday - #13 Demi Lovato's Skyscraper

Get a playlist! Standalone player Get Ringtones

Skyscraper is not only Demi Lovato's newest single, but also the first song she's released since getting out of the hospital earlier this year. I love this song. I think it just might be my new favorite song by Demi Lovato. I love the strength behind it.

You can take everything I have,
You can break everything I am,
Like I'm made of glass,
Like I'm made of paper.
Go on and try to tear me down.
I will be rising from the ground,
Like a skyscraper,
Like a skyscraper.

If anyone knows about being torn down it is Demi Lovato - teased in school so badly she was pulled out to be home schooled, tortured by an eating disorder, cutting, and low self esteem. But she has risen above it all - not only getting rid of the self destructive behavior, but doing everything she can to help other girls kick it, too. She is a huge inspiration to me, and this song is a great reminder of the wonderful example she's set.

The Secret I Loved to Keep

The second day Heather was here, she walked with me to a local park to get some outfit shots. It was a lot of fun, and I got a lot of pictures of her, and of the two of us that I'll share next week.
This outfit was inspired by one of Kitty Gallannaugh's photo shoot that was styled by Jennifer Lilly Designs. It's one of my all time favorite photo shoots.
{dress/thrifted ~ shoes/thrifted (and borrowed from my little sister) ~ belt/H&M ~ sunglasses/Delia's via my little sister}

The night before we did this photo shoot Heather and I stayed up watching Doctor Who and painting our nails. It was lots of fun, and I absolutely loved the color of my nails. They were a light aqua blue with white sparkles. They made me smile every time I saw them. <3

Sorry this post is short and rather choppy. I guess I don't have that much to say today...
