A Little Opera Goes a Long Way // Daily Outfit

{floral skirt/made by me :: white skirt/thirfted :: tank/my mom's :: belt/thrifted :: necklace/ModCloth :: shoes/Merona :: jacket/Ebay :: purse/thrifted}

So, if you follow my Twitter you may remember a few months ago when I decided to attempt a new dress. Long story short - I hated the bodice. So I cut it up and used the skirt I'd already sewed up to make a stand alone skirt following this tutorial. It's not perfect - due to my impatience - but i love it anyway. ♥

And what do you think of my new-to-me denim jacket? The one I had last year disappeared off the face of the earth, so I tracked down the same one on Ebay and won my first auction ever! I also voted yesterday for the first time - you know, grown up stuff. *winks* So far being eighteen is treating me well, and I'm looking forward to really starting my adult life. ♥

It may be a bit premature, but since I'm not going to attend college this year... or next year... or any time in the foreseeable feature, Jack and I are looking into getting an apartment together in Ft. Collins, CO next spring or summer. I'm so excited to see what happens! Every time I've thought of living on my own before I was just petrified. This time, however, the thought excites me more than it scares me, and I really hope it works out! I feel like it would be just an amazing opportunity for me! ♥

I'd really appreciate your prayers/thoughts this year. A lot is changing for me, but I'm so excited for it all - I just want to be sure I'm heading in the right direction and doing what God wants me to be doing. ♥

  1. If I didn't know who Jack was, it looks like you just said you will be getting an apartment with a man. Scandalous!!

    Also, did you quote me in the title? haha

    1. I know!! I got them as a free gift in my last ModCloth purchase. It came the day I finished my skirt. I was so stoked to see how well they matched with my skirt! :D

  5. I wish I knew who this Jack was. She sounds cool. And now I've blown it, because I shouldn't know Jack is a girl.
    Can I come visit you and your Jack? I won't blow anything up...too badly.
    So, if one of us gets into a row with a chip and pen machine will be me or you? I get into rows with electrical things, but you are Watson...We must work this out before hand. Because it isn't far you get all the rows
    Let's hope our Mrs. Hudson/Mrs. Fench likes me.
    And now I'm leaving because you won't give me a Potato friend to crush the life out of my worthless human form OR a brownie. That's just mean.

  6. That skirt is beautiful! I'm also lusting after your denim jacket, because I've been looking for one similar, and so far I can't find one that I like. As a semi-qualified adult, I think I can say that moving out of home rocks! Having to pay your own bills & be responsible isn't always fun, but having more freedom to do the things that you like & find out about yourself is great.

    1. Try Ebay! That's where I got mine. I just searched "old navy denim jacket" and found on that was the right size, a good price and didn't have too long in the auction left.

      And thanks for the encouraging words. :D
