Would You Be Proud of Me?

My big sister is arriving via the train in just a week from tomorrow, and my annual butterflies are back in my stomach where they belong. Nice. I always wanted a big sister growing up, now that I have one, I couldn't love her any more if I tried. She is so talented, and so amazing - she is everything a big sister should be and anything I can do pales in comparison. But I so badly want her to be proud of me. So, every year before I see her I spend that last two or so weeks before she comes running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to make sure everything is "perfect." When will I learn to accept that my best is good enough?{blouse/thrifted ~ skirt/thrifted ~ vest/thrifted ~ sandals/LuLu*s ~ bracelet/Charlotte Russe ~ sunglasses/ModCloth}

I realized only after taking these pictures that I wore that same blouse + vest in my last post. I'm a little disappointed, since I usually try to avoid that kind of thing, but I didn't have much time to get dressed, so this is what you get. On the plus side these are my new sandals (yes! I finally found a good pair!) which I got for just $17 including shipping. Woohoo! I love them. They are adorable and super comfy - which is always a good thing. You can't see it it in these pictures, but they have this adorable little ruffle on the back. I'll have to get a shot of it next time I wear them.

Oh! And don't forget to enter my giveaway! I'll be drawing the winner next Monday!

  1. I WANT A BIG SISTER. *Pouts* Sorry. Willi said I am not good at pouting so I am working on it. Can I have a marshmellow?
    I like it, and you are so cruel 8-P This shirt and vest look great with the skirt. Poor skirt, poor outfit, you made it feel bad. I think it is great!
    I like your sandals. I think mine are cooler 8-D Mine look Greek. Hehehe, 8-D Just kidding. Yours are cute...er, if shoes can be cute.
    Love, as always, Jack.
    By the way. Your sister, I know her. And she would be proud of you, she is proud of you. And the only reason she isn't packed yet is because she wants an old suit case.

  2. I'd be proud of you based on your beautiful hair. x hivenn

  3. i just love the denim skirt + crochet vest combo...not to mention the floral! you look adorable. :)

    p.s. nobody can be perfect, so why worry? those who love you will love you because of your imperfections.

  4. Don't worry about being perfect dear, no one is and she will be proud of you - that's what families do for each other. :)

  5. You look gorgeous, lovely outfit!
    I'm sure your sister is proud of you, all you can do is be yourself :) your family will just love you for who you are.

    I also want your sunglasses:) Super cute!
    But I mostly want your hair!!!
    ps have fun with your big sis!

  8. oh sibling competitiveness is tough! i have a big sister AND a little sister, and it's hard to not compare yourself. especially if they are both having an up period in their lives and you are having a down period! as long having a supportive network outside of it to ground you though really helps

  9. This is still my favorite post you've ever done. Seriously. You are a knockout in that outfit. (Maybe I like it because the style is more geared toward my own, haha)
