Mod(est) Dress

Yesterday I received a comment from Miss Black. Since I try to return the compliment whenever possible, I visited her blog, and came across this lovely dress:

I have to say, I just love it. It totally reminds me of something one would see at ModCloth - and if it were for sale at ModCloth I would buy it.

I think a lot of people believe that you can have style or modesty - but not both. If you wish to be stylish you have to be immodest, and if you wish to be modest you must dress out of style. I rebel against this idea. I believe it is possible to be modest and stylish - it just takes a little more work - and this dress is a perfect example of that. <3

  1. Thanks for the lovely things you said! You are so nice. I agree with you about the modesty-style thing, so many girls try to be modest and end up looking like a 40-year-old woman. I actually was kind of worried about the cutout on the back of this dress - but in the end I thought it was okay because it's a rather small cutout :)

  5. That is a lovely dress :) I like the length of it especially!

Oh, I have the hardest time choosing jeans too. By the sound of it, you and I probably have the same body type. I carry all my weight in the bottom half of my body, too. I have such big hips, butt, and thighs. Ugh. If only all that fat could be distributed to the top half of my body while skipping the tummy---if that's even possible! My mom's body type is the complete opposite. She has a hard time fitting into shirts more than pants.

Oh well, all body types are beautiful :) For ours, just think of it as having the classic woman body!
