Lately...

1. Wearing my Jeffery Campbell knockoffs with a Molly Marie original.
2. This is what I wore for a day of blog work + TV. Score!
3. My wingtip eyeliner actually turned out for once!

1. Way to Mandalay // Blackmore's Night
2. Galaxies // Owl City
3. Ghost of a Rose // Blackmore's Night

1. This song always reminds me of the summers I spent in Missouri, and the renaissance faire. We listened to it lots in apprehension of going back to the ren faire this past Saturday.
2. This song has been coming up on shuffle lots and I'm not going to complain!
3. This is another song that reminds me of Missouri/the ren faire, so of course we've been listening to it lots, as well!

Sorry this post is a bit short! I've not really been paying attention to what music I listen to, or taking many instagram pics since I've had company! Next week's Lately post should be longer.

Light Blue Vintage // Guest Post from Kate of Scathingly Brilliant

Shirt - vintage
Skirt - h&m
Shoes - vintage
Belt - from another dress

Hi! I'm Kate from Scathingly Brilliant, and I'm filling in for Katie :) Besides sharing a pretty fantastic name (if I do say so myself!) me and Katie both share a love of clothes. So I thought an outfit post would be quite fitting ;)

I unearthed this pretty blouse almost a year to the day after I wore it last! I was doing laundry and somehow it magically appeared -- missing in action since July of last year. I have no idea where it came from or where it was, but suddenly it was sitting in front of me in my laundry basket. I wore it on July 4th of last year, paired with a jean skirt and some bright red lipstick for Independence Day. I guess it decided to declare its own independence and hide from me for a year. I like to imagine it went off galavanting across the country.. took a little road trip, saw the Grand Canyon, spent a few days in Disneyland and then hung out on Rodeo Drive, saying "hello" to all the other pretty blouses in shop windows.

Guest Post from Maria of Avenue M // Wish List Wednesday

Hello dear readers of Beautifully Pure,

My name is Maria and I have a blog called Avenue M. Most of the time I like to write about frivolous days, my love for vintage and pretty things, wishlists and inspirations. When Katie asked me if I would like to guest post for her, I jumped at the chance! Her blog is gorgeous ♥
I haven't conjured up a wishlist of realistic and ridiculous wants in a while, so I though it would be the perfect time. Here are a few things that I would love to add to my wardrobe:

This gorgeous satchel from Oasap is the perfect pastel outfit companion.

Caitlin Shearer is one of the coolest Aussie artists you'll ever hear about! Her dresses and prints are so unique. I love this little lookbook she sketched for Audrey Grace Boutique. Her wonderful way with watercolours depicts Audrey Hepburn & Grace Kelly's classic style perfectly.

Isn't this bikini on Norma Jean (Marilyn Monroe) gorgeous? They are so perfect for summer and very flattering. As soon as summer comes around again for me (I live in Australia!) I will be on the hunt for something as cute as this ♥

I found this DIY on Pinterest the other day and fell in love instantly! Adding roses to the sides of sunglasses is the perfect way to add a little bit of pretty to them. You can view the full DIY here.

I hope you enjoyed this little wishlist, and please, come visit me over at my blog; Avenue M

Plug in the Party Lights

"Let go of the world you know
And plug in the party lights"
~ Yacht Club by Owl City

Saturday we celebrated my graduation. I'd spent months working on planning it and making decorations/food for it and it turned out just as I had imagined it. I'll be sharing some more detailed posts (DIYs, rundowns of everything I had, etc) later on in the next few weeks, but till then here are a few of my favorite photos from the day! I'll be sure to share more later. ♥

xo,
Katie

Lately...

1. One many reasons I love shopping on Etsy - gorgeous packaging!
2. Gluing mustaches onto stripped straws while video chatting with the lovely Lauren. ♥
3. A little reminder for me during a busy next couple weeks.
4. We done did have a par-tay!
5. One of my favorite parts of the party. Everything looks just like I imagined it!
6. My cousin bought wrapping paper that matched my cupcake wrappers! And she didn't even mean to!

1. Sh-Boom // The Chords
2. Dementia // Owl City
3. Good Time // Owl City and Carly Ray Jensen
4. I've God a Dream // Tangled Soundtrack

1. Love love love this song! Makes me feel like a sock-hop gal from the 50's. ♥
2. One of my favorite songs from Owl City's new EP. Upbeat and peppy with some great electronic sounds!
3. I know I included this song in one of my Lately posts a few weeks ago, but I'm still listening to it! It's just such a great song.
4. This song came up on my iPod when Miss Jack, Molly, Anna and my little sis and I were on the way home from the movies tonight. So what else do you expect four teenagers and twenty-something to do but start singing along at the top of their lungs??

No More Kings // Daily Outfit

"They wanted no more Mother England.
They knew the time had come
For them to take command.
It's very clear you're being unfair, King,
No matter what you say, we won't obey.
Gonna hold a revolution now, King,
And we're gonna run it all our way
With no more kings...
"
~ Tea Party by  School House Rock

I always loved this song when I was little - shoot! I still love it, and I'm also quite a fan of The Shot Heard 'Round the World. I've always loved learning about the Revolutionary War. One of my favorite shows growing up was Liberty's Kids. How nerdy was I??

Growing up my mom would always dress me and my sister in red, white and blue for our Independence Day cookout. When I got older there were a couple times I decided not to follow along with that tradition, but the past two years I've got back into it again, and I like this year's outfit even more than last year's!

Hope you all had a great 4th!!

Lately...

1. "Green tea" from Panera. Glorified limeade I say.
2. Me, getting my baking groove on in my amazing Iron Man apron. Thank you, little sis for that birthday gift!
3. I may or may not have left this note in the container at the bank drive-thru...
4. This week I've become addicted to Avatar: the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra cartoons.
5. My new Sky Sailing shirt came this week and I painted my nails to match it.
6. Maddie made doughnuts for breakfast. Two words: Ah. Mazing.
7. #ilovepink tag. It was fun, even if it took me forever to get it finished. It was worth it.
8. My new sparkly heels for with my graduation dress.
9. Me looking patriotic for the Independence Day parade yesterday.

1. Eternity // Paul Van Dike featuring Owl City
2. The Avengers Theme // Alan Silvestri
3. Hidden Away // Josh Groban
4. Northbound Train // Martin Phipps

1. You can read my thoughts on this song in my Music Monday post back in April.
2. I love this song so much. I sorta forgot about it for weeks, but when Miss Jack and I started planning one last trip to the theaters to see the Avengers, I remembered it. Omgsh it's so epic.
3. Another great song I've rediscovered. It's one of those great "summer" songs for me. Probably since I first started liking in the very beginning of summer when I went to Alabama with Miss Jack.
4. Another soundtrack song from one of my favorite movies that I'd forgotten! I rediscovered it the other night when I was looking for some good music to listen to before bed, and let me tell you: this is one of the sweetest sounding songs ever. If you haven't seen North & South before, I wrote a whole post on why you should.
