I Threw a Wish in the Well // Daily Outfit

So, I never actually did a post on it, but a few months ago I got to meet Tieka at a Madwell style event. I also met this really great girl, Emily. I was so thrilled when she followed me on Instagram shortly later, and we ended up getting together in June for some shopping! And then again on Thursday. This is what I wore.

The dress is kinda crazy - I know, but I love is so much I promised myself when my parents bought it for me that I wasn't just going to wear it for my graduation. And after my senior portraits, I knew I just had to wear it with a denim jacket at some point - it was a bit warm for a jacket that day, but that's my plan for getting autumn quicker. *winks*

I had a blast shopping with Emily and actually bought a couple things! (I'll be sharing them later this week.) She totally gave me the shopping bug! I'm planning on small shopping trip tomorrow. Lol! For a girl who rarely buys any clothes this is big!

P.S. The title from this post comes from the opening line of Call Me Maybe - apparently I'm now one of the those girls who listens to that song. *shrugs*

A Party of Special Magnificence

Here are some more photos from my party. I put a lot of work into it, and got some really cool stuff from Etsy, as well as finding some really neat tutorials, so I thought I'd share where I got some of my favorite parts of it. ♥

paper straws - When I saw this post from Shannon Nicole Smith I knew I had to have some stripey paper straws at my graduation party. I found some great ones from Hey YoYo for only $4 per 25 and they come in lots of colors. Amanda is super nice, too!

paper mustaches - I know I probably could have cut these out myself, but I didn't feel like spending the money on a die cutter, and I know I couldn't have cut out the curly part without one, so I opted just to buy a pack of 100 for $12 (including shipping) from Etsy.

paper cups - I hate the look of plastic cups, so my mom and I opted to get a pack of paper coffee cups. They come in a variety of colors, but I liked the white with the stripey straws, and it gave the guests a chance to get creative when marking their cups.

balloons - I really wanted to get some round balloons, but since Party City didn't have any I decided on the polka-dot ones instead, and I love them.

peanut butter cups - One of the things I knew I had to make for my party was peanut butter cups. I made them for Christmas and my family devoured them - Maddie especially loved them - I made about 48 and they were one of the first things to go. I can't really speak for this recipe, though, because I stored them in the freezer until the night before the party, but when I took them out they got very melty. I think next time I'm going to try a different recipe.

sugar mustaches - I found these on Hey YoYo when I was ordering the paper straws, and for $5 for 10 I couldn't pass them up!

silverware basket - Thrift store. Love it.

spools of thread - Estate sale.

drink dispensers - Target

clothes pins - Bought these from Walmart and DIYed them using this tutorial (except with paper) and this tutorial. I finished decorating the entire 50 in about an hour.

Plug in the Party Lights

"Let go of the world you know
And plug in the party lights"
~ Yacht Club by Owl City

Saturday we celebrated my graduation. I'd spent months working on planning it and making decorations/food for it and it turned out just as I had imagined it. I'll be sharing some more detailed posts (DIYs, rundowns of everything I had, etc) later on in the next few weeks, but till then here are a few of my favorite photos from the day! I'll be sure to share more later. ♥

My Senior Portraits

As you all probably know, last month I got my senior portraits done with Marnie of Studio 17 Portraits. It was a ton of fun, and all of the photos turned out beautifully. I thought I'd share a few of my favorites here.

I decided to wear my TARDIS dress since I got so many lovely comments on it the last time I wore it, and I'm so glad I did because it really "popped" against the stone backdrop! ♥

My favorite photos are the one in the field with the red dress, pennant flag banner and chalkboards. Looking at those photos makes me sooo excited for my party, since that's what I made all those decorations for.

And I doubt any of you remember, but the red dress has actually been featured on my blog before, in a Wish List Wednesday post. My parents ended up buying it for me for my graduation party. It's probably a little formal for a grad party, but I never got to have a homecoming or prom gown, so this is probably the best excuse I'll have to wear one till I get married. Plus, I figure I can dress it down (I mean, how cute is it with the denim jacket!?).

I hope you all are having a great day so far!

Dementia // Daily Outfit

This is what I wore to my six year old cousin's birthday party. It was actually too hot for the jacket most of the day, but I got to wear it for a bit, at least.

The last day of school is fast approaching. I have quite a bit of math to do, and two papers due on Friday. I have a bad habit of procrastinating, but I like to think that I don't procrastinate so much that I can't get it all done. I know my limits. *winks*

Besides school I worked for a few hours yesterday, and got a few pom-poms for my pom-pom chain done. I really hate making pom-poms, but I have a whole skein of hot pink yarn from a scarf I wanted to make, and I hate to let it go to waste. I seem to be using up lots of left over craft supplies on this party...

I'm hoping to do a post on everything I have for it so far sometime next week. I figure I'll wait till I get the 60D so I can get some good close up shots. I can't wait!

In Case All the Magic Dies // Daily Outfit

I haven't posted an outfit post in a long while. I have nearly a weeks worth of back logged posts, but I decided to post this one from yesterday, anyway, since I love these pictures so much.

I've spent the greater part of the week so far working on the invitations for my graduation party. I made a total of 35, and got 21 of them sent out yesterday. (I need help finding the addressees for the rest of them.) Whenever I need to go to the post office I always go to the one a few towns over, since the PO in my town is in a rather sketchy neighborhood and I don't like going there by myself. It's about a twenty minute drive to the one I like to frequent, but it's a lovely drive, and I feel safe going there by myself - that alone is worth the extra time + gas money, to me! It doesn't hurt that it's in one of the loveliest towns around. It reminds me of somewhere in Europe, and there are so many wonderful locations for photos - take this lovely produce stand, for instance. I mean, does it get any cuter than this!? ♥

P.S. This is the same skirt + jacket I wore to the Madwell style event where I met Teika (so much fun!)

Friday Favorites

This abandoned amusement park on the Clothes Horse.

This gorgeous renaissance outfit from Faire Finery. (I would love to be able to wear this to the Bristol Renaissance Faire this year!)

This lovely satchel from Ruche. It's totally my color!

This adorable, polka-dotty outfit of Laruen's.

♥ I got the gallery of my senior portraits yesterday, and am working on picking 10 with my mom.
♥ I started making my graduation party invitations. Four down, twenty-six to go! (roughly)
♥ Owl City finally released that the next album will be called The Midsummer Station and will be released in the US August 14th.
♥ My friend Christina gets home from college for ten days today. I can't wait to do some photo shoots with her!

I stumbled upon Shop Sweet Lulu several months ago, and instantly fell in love with all the lovely, whimsical products! These are just a few of my favorites of their products. I am so ordering some supplies for my graduation party! I highly recognize you check out the rest of their stuff.
