My Ultimate Rockabilly Inspired Summer Style

So lately I've been talking lots about how excited I am for summer to come, so I thought that to keep my spirits up during all this snow the Chicago area has been getting (boo!) I would do a post on my ideal summer style. Spoiler alert! It's very rockabilly influenced!

My favorite dress/skirt style for the summer usually involves a very, very full skirt; 1950's silhouette, and lots of color! Patterns are also welcome.

For shoes I usually like something bold, with a heel or wedge. Who says you can only have one "statement" piece??

For accessories I like to go bold, too. Brightly colored rings, belts, necklaces, ect. Scarves look great with high pony tails (which have the added benefit of keeping my hair away from my face!), and floppy hats just add to the chic-1950's feel while keeping the sun off my face.

What about you? What's your ideal summer style? Link me up with your ideal summer dress/skirt/accessory!

xo,

Katie Burry

Disclosure: While no one asked me to write this post, and I received nothing for writing it, several of the links above are affiliate links. Having said that is not the reason I wrote this post, and I picked out all the dresses because I like them - in fact I've had my eye on several of them for weeks.

It's Always a Good Time // Daily Outfit

I took these pictures with my mom's camera the day before I got mine. Then, in the excitement of getting my camera, I forgot to upload these onto my computer. Poor little pictures. Anyway, here they are now.

I got this dress from Francesca's Collections a couple months ago, and I've already worn it several times. It's just such a perfect dress! The colors are two of my favorites and the shape is perfect on me. It's just one of those dresses that makes me feel so good. ♥

My grad party is a week from Saturday and I still have so much to do! This weekend I made peanut butter cups and today my mom and I are going to Party City to get the balloons, plates, napkins and streamers. Then sometime later this week I need to bake three batches of cupcakes to freeze till the party day, and finish up some last-minute decorations. Eep! So much! Wish me luck!

Break Down the Open Road // Daily Outfit

Last week my sister and I popped out for for a coffee/tea on a gorgeous summer's day. We stopped to get some outfit photos and I couldn't resist getting some pics of Maddie's adorable outfit. Isn't she cute?

This is my last outfit post with my Nikon L110. Eep! So excited to start using my Canon for outfit posts!

In Case All the Magic Dies // Daily Outfit

I haven't posted an outfit post in a long while. I have nearly a weeks worth of back logged posts, but I decided to post this one from yesterday, anyway, since I love these pictures so much.

I've spent the greater part of the week so far working on the invitations for my graduation party. I made a total of 35, and got 21 of them sent out yesterday. (I need help finding the addressees for the rest of them.) Whenever I need to go to the post office I always go to the one a few towns over, since the PO in my town is in a rather sketchy neighborhood and I don't like going there by myself. It's about a twenty minute drive to the one I like to frequent, but it's a lovely drive, and I feel safe going there by myself - that alone is worth the extra time + gas money, to me! It doesn't hurt that it's in one of the loveliest towns around. It reminds me of somewhere in Europe, and there are so many wonderful locations for photos - take this lovely produce stand, for instance. I mean, does it get any cuter than this!? ♥

P.S. This is the same skirt + jacket I wore to the Madwell style event where I met Teika (so much fun!)
