Little Red Riding Hood // Daily Outfit

Sometimes I get so, so caught up in everything that's past. I think it's just in my nature. I can't stop thinking of everything that was. I've done it for as long as I can remember, and it always hits worst in December. It's the month of my birthday and the last month of the year - both are times I think people naturally get reflective, but for me it borders on depression. This year I can't stop thinking of some of my old friends. I trusted them, and even though I know that it's time to let go I just can't seem to...

The good news, though, is that all this friend drama has made me see the need to patch up some hurt feelings with some of my favorite family members. Family may be crazy and imperfect but they'll love you and I've been blessed to have some really amazing family that accept me - Lita Spikes and gear-head-wannabe in all! I'm really hoping to visit them again this spring - it's been far too long. ♥

For those of you wondering, this is what I wore to my dad's family's Christmas party earlier this month. When I got this dress I vowed to wear it more than just for my graduation party, and I've certainly done that! (I'm not even going to lie: Katy Perry is a constant source of courage! If she can wear candy themed outfits I can rock that hot-rod-red tulle dress!)

  1. Hiya Katie,

:) Reflection and depression - gotta love it...not. -_- I wanted to comment to say that you left your heart sweater-thing-a-ma-jig at our house last weekend. We found it in our car. So in case you were looking for it.... :)

Your favorite person in the whole wide world,

  2. Hi Katie! I was just wondering if you had the chance to read the message I sent to you on your Beautifully Pure Facebook page?

  3. Oh, and adorable outfit by the way. I covet your shoes hardcore!

  4. you look awesome girl! i love the frilly skirt with the hardcore shoes. xx!

  5. Katie,
Yeah, Nick seems pretty nice. *nods* Plus he has a good voice. Especially in Les Mis. :D Oh I'm glad! That would have been pretty bad! O.O Molly and I only realized it was in our car a few days ago and we were like "oops...Katie forgot something..." :)

  6. I get lost in my thoughts and the past a lot too. Hard not to, know we aren't supposed to get caught in the past, but who doesn't every now and then? I love this dress - it's so pretty on you! Red is your color!

  7. This dress is so much fun and you completely rock it! I agree with Katherine, red looks amazing on you. And I know what you mean, I tend to be pretty reflective as well. I'm glad you still have friends and family who accept you for who you are, anyone who doesn't is crazy :)
