Inspired by Film Fashion Event: Fantasy/Fairytale

So after skipping Thursday, I decided to participate in another Inspired by Film Fashion Event day. Today's theme was Fantasy/Fairytale/Sci-Fi, and - surprisingly - didn't do one inspired by Doctor Who! *le gasp*

Today's outfit is inspired by Ruby/Little Red Riding hood from Once Upon A Time. I've loved Ruby since she first came on the show - even though she was very immodest and, well, kind of a brat. There was just something about her that I loved. Now that I think of it, it's probably because we saw her both in this world and in the story land, which is where you got to see what she's really like - sweet and loyal. Plus she wears a lot of red and has that awesome plaid shirt that's a lot like mine.

I didn't base my outfit today off any particular outfit of hers, like I did with my the Help inspired outfit, but more on the general feel of her outfits: lots of red, plaid, long straight hair with a teased up-do, and wing-tip eyeliner. She is for sure, a girl after my own heart. ♥

xo,

Katie Burry

Lately {Foodstagrams + Country Music}

1. Froyo!
2. A basket of clothes to list on my Instagram closet shop
3. We finally got a decent amount of snow!
4. Libby got a German pancake and it was bigger than her head! (And believe it or not, that's the small one!)
5. Woke up with a craving for doughnuts to find out that my wonderful mother had already got some for breakfast!
6. Perfect red pout Saturday morning.
7. Granted I left earlier than usual, but there was still a sliver of light when I left work on Saturday! Here comes spring!
8. Starbucks in the car with my mom and Maddie.
9. Ulta haul!

1. Jackson // Johny Cash and June Carter
2. West Coast Friendship // Owl City
3. That Don't Impress Me Much // Shina Twain
4. Dear Vienna // Owl City
5. Wide Awake // Katy Perry

1. I got this song because it was on the Help soundtrack, but then I watched Walk the Line and now I'm really loving it. I can't wait to get the Walk the Line soundtrack version, though. Reese Witherspoon has an amazing voice.
2. I love all of Adam Young's work, but his earlier stuff will always have a special place in my heart, and even though I'm not a California girl, I love this song.
3. In case you can't tell, I'm in a country music mood lately (I blame going to Missouri). This is one of the first country songs I ever liked! (And for those of you that are interested this was the video that I first saw it on!)
4. This is by far my favorite songs on the Maybe I'm Dreaming album by Owl City! ♥
5. This wasn't one of my favorite Katy Perry songs at first, but the more I listen to it the more I love it. The vocals are gorgeous, and the lyrics are hauntingly true. Totally describes a lot of my feelings lately.

1. Once Upon a Time
2. Downton Abbey
3. Sweet Home Alabama

1. Even though I still really love this show I'm starting to think that I like season one a little more than season two. That might just be because I'm really sad over the whole Belle/Rumpelstiltskin story line... probably. I just hope his son isn't who I think he is!
2. This show is still good as ever, and I really love how all of the characters are progressing, but I heard a spoiler for the Christmas special and it's killing me!
3. I caught the tail end of this movie while I was baby sitting Friday night. I love it so much! Reese Witherspoon is totes adorable. I absolutely love her in everything I've seen her in - especially Penelope! The only downside to watching Sweet Home Alabama is that it made me miss being in Missouri.

Lately {Walmart + Doo wop music}

1. One of the the things on my 19 Before 20 list is to get my own car/truck, and I'm really hoping I'll be able to get a cool older Ford car!
2. Couldn't decide which mug to get at Target (I ended up with blue).
3. Wore my faux JC Litas with my matching camera bag and a new dress to Jiffy Lube. One of the ladies also waiting for her car asked if had bought the bag + shoes together or if it was just a happy coincidence. ;)
4. My makeup on Friday.
5. Look who was all productive while watching the Bourne Legacy on Friday!
6. My dad bought me an awesome calendar full of Ford pickups!
7. Maddie made the most delicious cake pops!
8. Biggest bag of cereal. Ever!
9. Don't get down on my Walmart love! I mean, where else can you buy food, tires/car batteries, ball jars and washi tape all in the same place!?

1. Wah Wah Watusi // The Orlons
2. The Twist // Chubby Checker

1. My newest obsession is doo wop music, and Wah Wah Watusi is def one of my new favorites!
2. Another fun doo wop song. This one is so much fun to dance to!

1. Once Upon a Time season 2
2. Downton Abbey season 3
3. The Help

1. You guys! I just love this show so, so much! Especially the whole Bell/Rumpelstiltskin thing, and I actually feel bad for Regina!
2. This season is really good so far, and I love some of the happy stuff going on, but - unfortunately - I know some of the stuff coming up, and I am not looking forward to it!
3. This is one of my favorite movies! The fashions are great, the music is great, the cars are amazing, and the story is so inspiring! If you haven't seen it yet I definitely recommend popping it in!

Lately {It's Begining to Look a Lot Like Christmas}

1. Enjoying my new Betsy Johnson sunglasses from Little Black Bag.
2. Making perogis for Thanksgiving with my little sisters
3. The farmers market in the town where I work has been replaced with a Christmas tree farm.
4. Maddie's cranberry cobbler
5. Maddie got me this ah-mazing necklace from Claire's!
6. I really want this Christmas tree ornament!
7. I love this little red cacti!
8. My family finally put our tree up.
9. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - a Christmas tradition with my family.

1. River // Haley Westenra
2. Let it Snow // Celtic Woman
3. The First Noel // Josh Groban
4. Peppermint Winter // Owl City
5. White is in the Winter Night // Enya

1. Maddie got me the Haley Westenra Christmas album for my sixteenth birthday and I still love it! It's definitely become a Christmas tradition for me.
2. Celtic Woman used to be one of my favorite bands and this is still one of my favorite renditions of Let it Snow.
3. Over the weekend I finally bought Josh Groban's Christmas album. He's def one of my favorite artists - I mean, his voice is so amazing and I really love this song sung by him.
4. Peppermint Winter is Owl City's one and only Christmas song so of course I'm listening to it! It's a really fun/funny song for Christmas. I really wish Owl City would do a whole Christmas album.
5. And Winter Came was one of the first whole albums I bought on iTunes and it's still a favorite of mine! I remember listening to it the whole time I worked on NaNoWriMo in 2008, and it's another album that's become a Christmas tradition with me.

1. Once Upon a Time
2. Doc Martin

1. This show was on again last night after a week break, and it was really good to get back to it! I can't wait to see what happens with Cora (and am I the only one who is really liking Mr. Gold and Regina this season?)
2. My family forgot about this show for a while, but we've started watching it again and the season we're on right now (three, maybe?) is really good! I'm glad to see that it looks like Doc Martin and Louisa are sort of getting together. *winks*
