I've really been enjoying filming vlogs lately, so I decided to film a video of what I got in each of my subscription boxes this month. Since I don't know how many of you are aware of my YouTube account, I figured I'd share them all here. Let me know if this is something you'd like me to start doing every month!

My October Ipsy Haul
So I've decided to start sharing my subscription box hauls on the last Saturday of every month, so here's my Ipsy bag of October! I also signed up for Little Black Bag this month, but since I signed up late it won't arrive until sometime next week. Oh well! I'll be sure to include my November Little Black Bag next month.
Also, I think I'm finally getting the hang of this whole "video blogging" thing! I only had to stop the camera twice and was much more myself through the whole thing! Win.

Dreams and Disasters // Daily Outfit
Tuesday I went directly from work out to dinner with my friend Emily + some of her friends to celebrate her 21st birthday. It was a ton of fun, but required me to wear my out-to-dinner clothes to work. Not sure why the idea of wearing a skirt to work has been so nerve wracking to me considering I did it for baby sitting all the time and my new job isn't anymore Marilyn-moment-inducing than baby sitting, but for some reason I just hated the idea of it. I guess jeans are just a comfort zone thing...
Anyway, I got through the day in a skirt totally fine and had a blast at dinner afterwards. Sometimes being a grown up is just the bomb!

In My Makeup Bag
After my last makeup video, Lauren of Someone Like You said I should definitely do more. So today I filmed + edited this In My Makeup Bag video. It's not the best quality, but it does the job. (I'm thinking of filming my next one with my camera instead of my webcam, but we'll see.)

Lately {Pyrex and Tangled}
1. Lots of casual outfits this past week (tee shirt not pictured).
2. It's a big hat day! (Big hat courtesy of Maddie.)
3. A pretty graduation present from my aunt in California!
4. Got to spend a lot of quality time with this little cutey this week!
5. Pretzel roll + half an eclair + half a brownie + an Izzy soda = perfect snack.
6. New dress! Thrifted this beaut for just $6! It'll be perfect for my uncle's wedding this autumn.
7. Spent some hard earned cash on makeup this week! (clockwise: L'Oreal
8. My mustache key chain. Can't believe I haven't photographed it before now!
9. Saturday night Molly and I spent an hour skyping + going through
our Pyrex collections. After putting aside the pieces for her + the ones
to get rid of, my collection fits in ONE box!
1. Only Hope // Mandy Moore
2. When Will My Life Begin // Tangled
3. Home // Ok Sweetheart
1. This song was recommended to me by a friend early in the week and I just love it! It's such a lovely song. ♥
2. Listening to Only Hope by Mandy Moore made me want to listen to When Will My Life Begin - so I did. It's just such a fun song! And I mean, seriously, who can help but like all the Tangled songs??
3. I found this song through Beth's blog, and I love it so much! I've baked chocolate chip cookies twice in the past week (don't you judge me!) and both times I listened to this song. Also, I'm longing for kitchen like that! All the Pyrex and a gorgeous Kitchen Aid mixer?? *swoons*

Fruity Punch 1950's Inspired Makeup Tutorial
Here are the steps I take to achieve this look:
These are the make up products I use to do this look, but most of it's pretty optional - just do your foundation the way you normally do.

1. After applying your foundation in your favorite way, put on some nude eyeshadow on top of your eye primer 2. Line your lids thickly with liquid eyeliner. It should be thinner toward the inner corners and gradually thicken toward the outer corners. 3. Then mascara (one of my favorite parts!) 4. Put on your lipstick (which is another of my favorite parts)! (I like to put some Aquafora lotion under my lipstick to help my chap lips since I find that bright lipstick tends to accentuate chap lips, and then some foundation + powder to help get a truer color, but I should probably get a proper lip primer) And you're done!
Thank you to Amber Rose for the inspiration behind this look. I love it so much (even more so with the darker hair color I have now), and I really hope you guys like it as much! ♥

My Make Up Essentials
Ok, this post is pretty long... I almost didn't post it, but I decided that I really wanted to since I love make up and I really wanted to show you all some of my favorite products. These are the things I use most often (clockwise from left):
Sonia Kashuk tanslucient powder: My favorite powder by far. I love the way it feels and it blends with my natural skin color really well. I really need to get some more...
Neutrogena healthy skin foundation: This is the only foundation I've worn, but I like it lots. It's sometimes hard to find foundations that match my skin since I'm not as fair as the lightest one, but have more pink undertones than the next one up. This one matches really well, so I'm happy.
Urban Decay Primer Potion: Works great and helps my eye shadow go on and last.
Urban Decay Feminine palette: I love this palette! I'm not sure if I they sell it anymore, but I love it tons. It has pink, tan, light brown, dark brown, purple and teal eye shadow in it. They go on really well and have really vibrant colors (which is great for me, since I love color!).
Aquaphor lotion: Maybe this seems like an odd thing to have in my make up, but it works wonders on chap lips, which is great because I have a terrible time with chap lips.
Ulta lip sticks #115 and #123: These are two of my favorite lip sticks. I usually wear them together since I have yet to find a perfect fuchsia lip stick, but sometimes I sometimes I wear them them separately.
CoverGirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Sultry: I got this lipstick earlier this year, and I love it. It's the perfect nude/natural looking lip stick for me, and it's really creamy.
Ulta Lash Icon mascara in black: I'm not picky about what mascara I use, this the last one I got, but I usually use Covergirl Lashblast, but I decided to try this one. I think they're equally as good, and like I said, I'm not picky.
Mary Kay Nurishine lip gloss in Fancy Nancy: I got this several weeks ago, and I love it! I'm not usually much of a lip gloss girl, but this one is great! It's not sticky at all, has a great pinky color, and little gold sparkles in it. I absolutely love it!
Mary Kay liquid eyeliner in black: I got this at the same time I got the lip gloss, because I wanted to try this Twiggy inspired make up, but I've found myself using it lots now! I even have a make up tutorial using it planned for next week!
Mary Kay mineral cheek color in bold blush: I also got this when I got the lip gloss (and liquid eyeliner). It's been really hard for me to find a blush with fuchsia tones to it. All the ones I've tried have either been too pink or too orange-y so I was thrilled when I found this one! It goes on great, looks awesome and even when I dropped it it didn't shatter! I love, love this product.
Urban Decay pencil eyeliner in black (not pictured): This came with my feminine palette, and if I'm not wearing my liquid eyeliner, you can bet I'm wearing my black pencil eyeliner. I know black eyeliner with fair skin is a fashion faux pas, but I don't care, because I love the way it looks on me. :)

Deer in the Headlights // Daily Outfit
{dress//Red Dress Shoppe :: white skirt//thrifted :: belt//thrifted :: cardigan//my mom's :: necklace//ModCloth :: hair clips//H&M :: boots//Blowfish Shoes :: make up//Keiko Lynn}
A lot has changed in the past couple years, I've lost some really good
friends, and sometimes it's just so sad to think back on all the fun we
used to have. But, in retrospect I've also gained some amazing new
friends. And it's so funny because sometimes I'm so shy I feel like a Deer in the Headlights, and at other times I feel positively fearless. I think they understand me better than anyone else - it's certainly easier for me to be myself around them than anyone else. I don't feel judged. I don't feel like a weirdo. I just feel loved and important and like me - and sometimes that means being a Deer in the Headlights.
One thing I know, though, is that I have some of the most amazing friends in the world, and I'm so, so thankful for them. ♥

60's MakeUp Tutorial
Amber from Laughing with Broken eyes was asking for a tutorial on doing 1960's inspired make up last week, so - since I've been wanting to do a make up tutorial for a while, and since I know how to do 1960's make up pretty well - I said I'd make one for her.
Modified Version: For myself, I wanted something a little more modern, so I softened the eyeshadow by putting a light, sparkly eyeshadow over the purple, smudged the bottom eyeliner more and put a brighter pink lipstick on.

Armor Plating
Last night was family night at my little sisters church group. I didn't really want to go, but they really wanted me to, so I did.
My make up was much lighter than what I usually do - I want to start trying more new things, so I made sure not to fall back onto my go-to smokey eye. It was very different, and at first I didn't think I'd like it, but I actually did. I'm going to do my make up like that again today, I think.
My mom and one of my sisters teased me a bit about how I fixed up (I just wore skinny jeans, a long sleeved black tee shirt with a belt, and my gold ballet flats, but my mom thought the flower in my hair was a bit much) but what they didn't know is that it wasn't about how I looked - it was about how I felt.
I don't really know anyone at church yet, and I get uncomfortable in situations like that - I think everyone does. But if I think I look good, I feel more confident. I feel more secure. And it doesn't matter what anyone may be thinking of me - because I like myself the way I am. It's sort of like armor plating: when I feel good about myself and how I look other people's opinions can't penetrate into me to make me feel bad about myself - or at least, I'm more resilient to it. ;-)
